Sandhya Bharathkumar
PhD Candidate
Sandhya is a PhD student in the Bose-Einstein Condensation Laboratory at the University of Queensland. She joined the group after her Master's in Qunatum Technology in University of Queensland. Currently, she is working on room temperature Rydberg atoms to do quantum sensing of electric fields.
“The research focuses on developing Rydberg atom-based sensors for measuring low-frequency and quasi-DC electric fields.
The measurement principle relies on the strong interaction between external electric fields and highly excited Rydberg states, producing observable Stark shifts and Autler–Townes splittings in the atomic spectrum."
